Farm Credit of Southern Colorado is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to design and operate batch and streaming pipelines on Microsoft Azure, develop reusable Python data processing components, and partner with analytics, application, architecture, and governance teams.

You will build reliable, secure data products, optimize Snowflake schemas and warehouses, and collaborate with stakeholders to translate requirements into scalable solutions across Azure environments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, IT, engineering or related field.
• 5 years of data engineering experience in banking or financial institution or equivalent.
• Experience designing and supporting data pipelines or data platforms in a cloud environment.
• Hands-on with Azure data services (Azure Data Factory, Snowflake, Azure Functions).
• Experience with REST APIs, JSON, Parquet, CSV and data integration patterns.
• Experience with Git, PRs, automated testing, and CI/CD practices.
• Strong Python development skills including modular design and testing.
• Strong SQL skills and data warehousing concepts.

Responsabilités

• Design, build, test, deploy, and support data pipelines and data products across Azure environments.
• Develop production-quality Python for ingestion, transformation, validation, orchestration, automation, and tooling.
• Create and optimize batch and near-real-time processing using Azure Data Factory, Azure Functions, and Snowflake.
• Design and optimize Snowflake schemas, virtual warehouses, stages, file formats, streams, and tasks; ELT workloads with Python/SQL.
• Integrate data from APIs, files, relational databases, and SaaS platforms.
• Build automated tests and participate in code reviews and design reviews.
• Implement monitoring, security-by-design practices, and performance tuning; produce clear technical documentation.
