Job summary

HARMAN International is seeking an experienced Data Engineer to design and deliver production-grade data products on our enterprise data platform. You will lead technical decisions, mentor engineers, and collaborate across business and technology teams to ensure scalable, reliable data solutions.

You will work with Python, SQL, Spark, and Delta Lake on Azure Databricks, shaping data contracts, governance, and integration patterns while promoting best practices and CI/CD across the organization.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in data engineering or related roles.
• Experience designing production data solutions with Python, SQL, Spark/PySpark.
• Azure Databricks experience in an enterprise lakehouse.
• Understanding of lakehouse architecture, Delta Lake, and data modeling.
• Ability to lead technical delivery of complex data initiatives.
• Experience with CI/CD and automated testing in data projects.
• Knowledge of data governance, security, lineage, and metadata.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and delivery of cross-domain data products using Azure Databricks.
• Design scalable data pipelines, data models, and integration patterns.
• Resolve engineering, performance, data quality, and integration challenges.
• Mentor Data Engineers and promote best practices with CI/CD and observability.
• Define reusable data engineering patterns and golden paths with Platform Engineering.
• Collaborate with architects, security, data quality, and domain teams to meet standards.
• Guide data contracts, lineage, and metadata within data products.
• Evaluate new Databricks capabilities to improve delivery and cost.
