Job summary

UPS is seeking a Data Engineer who will develop batch and real-time data pipelines, perform ETL data conversions, and support Data Science and ML efforts. The role involves integrating data from multiple sources, cleansing and enriching data assets, and managing full system life cycle activities from analysis to deployment.

You will work on data integration, data warehousing, and ensure data security and compliance while collaborating with stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Understanding of database systems and data warehousing.
• Knowledge of data life cycle stages and secure data handling.
• Scalability and throughput for large data workflows and real-time analytics.
• Experience with building a data platform and secure data in motion/rest.
• Familiarity with analytics reporting technologies (PBI/Looker/Qlik).

Responsibilities

• Contributes to data engineering projects and builds data pipelines.
• Gathers requirements, defines project scope, and produces documentation.
• Performs data analysis and presents findings to stakeholders.
• Integrates data for data engineering projects and supports maintenance.
• Uses analytic reporting tools and assists in data interconnections across systems.
• Participates in backup/recovery and POC analysis.
• Collaborates with data scientists to support model features tuning.
