Job summary

SiriusXM is seeking a Senior Staff Data Engineer to design, build, and scale data pipelines and reporting APIs across AdsWizz and SXM Media. You will collaborate with ad measurement, revenue, and addressability teams to deliver data products and insights.

You will mentor juniors and ensure reliable production deployments within a cloud-first environment. The role requires deep experience in Python/Java, Spark, BigQuery, and cloud platforms, plus strong ownership and communication skills.

Qualifications

• 12+ years of software engineering experience in Python or Java.
• 7+ years designing, building, and managing data pipelines with Spark, BigQuery, AWS EMR, and GCP.
• 7+ years crafting REST API based microservices and scalable products in cloud platforms.
• Experience with Snowflake and BigQuery data warehouses.
• Observability tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack.
• Experience with containers, Kafka/Flink, and Pub/Sub.
• Familiarity with Jira/Confluence and data workflow tools.
• Bachelor's degree and legal right to work in the U.S.

Responsibilities

• Design and build high-performance reporting APIs and data pipelines.
• Lead architecture discussions with ad measurement, revenue and addressability data.
• Collaborate with multiple engineering teams in a collaborative development process.
• Guide product scope with thoughtful feedback and clear requirements.
• Mentor junior engineers and ensure production deployments succeed.
