Job summary

GlobalSource IT, Inc. is assisting an Appleton-based software company in recruiting a Senior Data Engineer. You will help build the data foundation, support AI initiatives, and own end-to-end data pipelines in a Snowflake/Microsoft Azure environment.

The role requires hands-on technical leadership, strong SQL and data modeling skills, and collaboration with business stakeholders to deliver analytics and BI capabilities, including Power BI integrations.

Qualifications

• Must have Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
• Strong Snowflake data warehouse design, tuning, and cost optimization.
• Extensive experience with Azure data services (Data Factory, SQL, Storage).
• Advanced SQL skills and data modeling expertise.
• Experience with modern transformation tools (dbt, Dataform) and orchestration (Airflow, Dagster).
• Proficient in Python or Scala and strong ETL/ELT understanding.
• Knowledge of data governance, metadata, security, and CI/CD for data pipelines.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines and infrastructure using Snowflake and Azure.
• Own end-to-end data engineering initiatives including architecture, ingestion, transformation, modeling, governance and delivery.
• Architect data integration across databases, SaaS apps, external sources using batch, streaming and CDC patterns.
• Build and optimize transformations, SQL queries, data models and Snowflake workloads.
• Establish data engineering standards for CI/CD, versioning, observability, and reliability.
• Support governance, metadata management, data lineage, and security compliance.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to translate requirements for BI/Power BI and AI initiatives.
• Mentor engineers and contribute to data and analytics practices.

Education

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related discipline, or equivalent experience
