TopDog Law is hiring a Senior Data Engineer to own a business domain's data end-to-end, focusing on reliable ingestion and trustworthy numbers. You will partner with the Director of Data to translate platform strategy into production systems, ensuring reliability, performance, and scalability.

You will own the full pipeline from ingestion to curated marts, enforce data quality, and document data definitions for an AI-ready environment.

Qualifications

• 5+ years building and maintaining production data pipelines.
• Expert-level dbt with staging/mart architecture, tests, macros, documentation.
• Mastery of API-based data ingestion: auth, paging, rate limits, retries, incremental pulls.
• Proven ability across ingestion sources: webhooks, files, databases/CDC, with schema drift handling.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end data ingestion for a business domain, ensuring reliability and trustworthiness of datasets.
• Build data quality tests, monitoring, and alerting for critical metrics and schema enforcement.
• Deliver complete domain pipelines: ingestion, raw landing, dbt staging, marts, and runbooks.
• Design and maintain AI-ready single source of truth with clear documentation and traceability.
