Job summary

Amazon.com Services LLC is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to own 3-5 data domains and operate hundreds of pipelines, driving architectural improvements that impact how AWS leadership makes decisions. You will be a technical leader, delivering expert SQL, ETL processing, and data modeling using AWS EMR, Glue, Redshift, and Lambda, with hands-on AI/ML capabilities and agentic framework know-how.

You will mentor teams and build scalable data platforms at AWS scale.

Qualifications

7+ years of data engineering experience.
Experience with data modeling, warehousing and building ETL pipelines.
Experience with SQL.
Experience in at least one modern scripting or programming language (Python/Java/Scala/NodeJS).
Experience mentoring team members on best practices.
Experience with MPP databases such as Amazon Redshift.
Experience building/operating highly available distributed data pipelines.

Responsibilities

Identify limitations and opportunities in data processing tools and drive improvements.
Define and own data architecture at the team level with security, scalability and cost considerations.
Produce exemplary, secure and maintainable code.
Define and own infrastructure architecture at the team level and drive automation.
Solve complex, ambiguous problems and design cross-domain data models.
Split project work into parallel tasks and drive to completion.
Influence data architecture and mentor other engineers; drive best practices.
Participate in on-call rotation and monitor data systems health.
