Job summary

Wawa, Inc. is seeking a Senior Data Engineer, AI to design and develop scalable data solutions on our enterprise platform. You will guide AI coding agents, own end-to-end data pipelines, and ensure quality and cost standards while collaborating with IT and analytics teams.

You’ll work with Snowflake-native transformations, data governance, and production data issues, balancing business needs with feasible technical solutions in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science/Engineering or related field.
• 5+ years in database and data integration.
• 3+ years in data modeling and data warehouse design.
• 3+ years on modern cloud data platforms with Snowflake.
• Strong Python and SQL; open-source data solutions experience.
• Snowflake-native pipelines, AWS-hosted environment experience.
• Data security principles and data observability knowledge.
• Experience directing AI coding agents and code reviews.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, optimize, and maintain real-time and batch data pipelines.
• Partner with governance and analytics teams on data quality and SLAs.
• Develop Snowflake-native transformations with CI/CD practices.
• Balance business needs with technical feasibility on new projects.
• Mentor junior engineers and participate in code reviews.
