Job summary

Mindera is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to design and operate pipelines moving data from sources to a warehouse, with production-grade reliability and governance in mind. You will work closely with leadership and clients, using AI to assist coding while maintaining rigorous review standards.

The role emphasizes self-organization, clear communication, and the ability to guide others in a collaborative, global environment. Some international travel may be required.

Qualifications

• Proven production experience building and operating data pipelines in production.
• AI-augmented engineer who responsibly uses AI tooling and verifies results.
• Fluent English communicator working directly with customer teams.
• Cost engineering mindset to optimize pipeline costs and efficiency.
• Exposure to regulated environments, GDPR compliance, and auditable lineage.

Responsibilities

• Build and operate robust ingestion pipelines (batch and streaming) from databases, event streams, and third-party APIs.
• Own storage architecture across lake, lakehouse, and warehouse for partitioning, cost efficiency, and speed.
• Ensure reliability and observability with orchestration, testing, alerting, and clean recoveries.
• Apply infrastructure as code and CI/CD for data workloads; perform code reviews and maintain strict version control.
• Define and enforce data contracts with data-producing teams to control schema drift, access, retention, and lineage.
• Produce clear documentation so work endures beyond the engagement.
