Job summary

Trane Technologies is seeking a leading analytics engineer to accelerate growth through advanced analytics and AI capabilities for our chiller business. You will partner with engineering, product management, and IT to translate needs into features, leading a small team to scale analytics across enterprise platforms.

You will drive workflows, implement data monitoring, and deliver predictive insights while collaborating across functions to maximize customer value and efficiency.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in computer science, data science, engineering.
• 5+ years of experience in software development or advanced analytics.
• 2+ years of people leadership in a project setting or small team.
• Leadership with the agile methodology and concepts.
• Proficient with data engineering tools such as Dataiku, Tableau, Oracle BI, Informatica, Rapid Miner, Azure BI, or Google Cloud.
• Experience with building APIs or endpoints to deploy solutions.
• Knowledge of predictive and prescriptive analytics and ML techniques.
• Proficiency with enterprise D&A platforms such as Azure AI Foundry or Vertex AI is preferred.
• Ability to travel. ~5% travel time.

JOB DESCRIPTION

This person is responsible for accelerating our growth and proficiency in advanced analytics and AI capabilities to enable engineering productivity and customer value within our chiller business. The capabilities and outcomes of our solutions enable teams to develop new high-efficiency products worldwide, drive organizational insight, and enhance our sales capabilities. Success in this role requires partnering directly with our engineering, product management, and IT teams, to translate engineering and customer needs into software features and tools. This person will lead a small team in scaling advanced analytics and AI services through foundational work on our enterprise platforms to integrate solutions and optimize value.

• Apply critical thinking to translate design, engineering, product support, and manufacturing requirements into supporting tools.
• Continuously improve engineering analytics capabilities through improved workflow efficiency, automation, documentation, and enhancements.
• Collaborate with Engineering Technology Center and Advanced Concepts and Capability partners to coordinate work and changes.
• Drive stakeholder engagement through agile process and prioritize development based on strategic capability and business value.
• Lead projects with cross functional teams to develop and maintain analytic workflows and visualizations.
• Leads exploration of new data to enhance existing solutions and create new opportunities.
• Implements data monitoring in production to ensure consistency of data feeding models.
• Develop data knowledge and capabilities of the organization by serving as a consultant to other functions.
• Ability to understand and develop advanced data science workflows delivering predictive and prescriptive analytics.
• Ability to leverage enterprise LLM/AI platforms to create solutions that solve problems at scale.
• Understands and can build agentic workflows to improve automation of process.
• Drives a culture of commitment to knowledge sharing, collaboration, and documentation.

PHYSICAL EFFORT

• Typical office environment spending most of their time using computers. Accommodations will be evaluated where needed.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor’s Degree in computer science, data science, engineering, or equivalent technical degree. Masters in statistics, computer science, or engineering preferred.
• 5+ years of relevant work experience in software development or advanced analytics.
• 2+ years of people leadership in a project setting or small team.
• Leadership with the agile methodology and concepts required.
• Proficient with data engineering tools such as Dataiku, Tableau, Oracle Business Intelligence, Informatica, Rapid Miner, Azure BI, or Google Cloud Products.
• Experience with building APIs or endpoints to deploy solutions.
• Knowledge of advanced data science concepts such as predictive and prescriptive analytics and associated machine learning techniques
• Proficiency with enterprise D&A platforms such as Azure AI Foundry or Vertex AI is preferred
• Ability to travel. Expected travel time ~ 5%
