As a startup originating from a major healthcare plan in the Northwest, we combine deep health-tech expertise with top-tier data and software engineering talent to create products that our customers find meaningful and valuable. These products empower payers and their partners to find timely insights and take action to intervene in areas like value-based care analytics, interoperability compliance, and real-time streaming of clinical data.

In this remote position, we are seeking a Senior Data Engineer with a strong background in various databases, processes, and tools to join our team. In this role, you will design, develop, deploy, and maintain our data-hub and associated integrations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Performs development tasks to support ELT/ETL data movement, database development, and data analysis.
  • Builds end-to-end ETL pipelines populating data for various data-marts, warehouses, exports, and reporting tools.
  • Supports all SDLC activities in accordance with industry best practices, as well as the government's product lifecycle processes.
  • Researches and integrates design strategies, product specifications, development schedules, and user expectations into product capabilities.
  • Conducts investigations and tests of considerable complexity.
  • Participates in special projects as required.
  • Provides guidance to the data engineering team with code reviews and supports infrastructure/operations.
  • Troubleshoots complex problems and provides customer support for software operating systems and application issues.
  • Maintains current knowledge of relevant technology as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 7+ years relevant experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or other related technical discipline, or equivalent relevant work experience.
  • 5+ years building ETL/ELT processes.
  • 5+ years developing with relational and non-relational databases, such as MySQL, Postgres, Oracle, SQL Server, MongoDB, DynamoDB, Cassandra.
  • 2+ years developing in a structured language (Python, Java, C#, etc.).
  • Experience with the ingestion and egestion of data in a variety of formats including: CSV, JSON, XML, and HL7.
  • Advanced knowledge of data structures and queries in both relational and non-relational databases.

Qualifications:

  • 2+ years building data flow processes in Databricks.
  • Experience in integration projects with healthcare-specific standards (HL7, CCD, C-CDA, X12, FHIR, etc.).
  • Experience with AWS and Azure storage/data platforms.

Benefits:

  • The Seattle base salary range for this full-time position is $163k-$192k. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
  • Benefits include medical, dental, vision, life and AD&D insurance, EAP, short-term and long-term disability, 16 days PTO, 8 paid holidays, fully paid holiday closure, parental and family medical leave, 401k, stock options, and annual bonuses and salary increases based on merit.
