Job summary

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in Power BI and data engineering.
• Experience with Power BI datasets, dataflows, DirectQuery, and Import models.
• Advanced SQL development and ETL/ELT design and optimization.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable ETL/ELT pipelines using Azure Synapse Analytics, Azure Data Factory, and related Azure services.
• Build and manage data ingestion workflows from Salesforce and other enterprise systems.
• Develop and support Power BI dashboards, datasets, dataflows, and semantic models.
• Create and optimize complex SQL queries, stored procedures, and data transformations.
• Improve performance, reliability, and scalability of cloud-based analytics platforms.
• Troubleshoot data pipeline failures, API integrations, and reporting issues.

Compensation: $85,000 - $95,000 annual gross salary, inclusive of applicable benefits

About the Opportunity

accel bi corporation is seeking an experienced NC FAST Power BI & Data Engineer to support a critical healthcare and analytics initiative in North Carolina. This is an urgent requirement for a highly skilled professional with strong experience in Azure Synapse Analytics, Power BI, SQL, ETL/ELT development, and cloud-based data engineering solutions.

The selected candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and optimizing enterprise data pipelines, analytics solutions, and reporting environments supporting large-scale Medicaid and Child Welfare programs.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable ETL/ELT pipelines using Azure Synapse Analytics, Azure Data Factory, and related Azure services.
• Build and manage data ingestion workflows from Salesforce and other enterprise systems.

Required Skills & Experience

5+ Years of Experience

• Strong hands-on experience configuring, designing, developing, and testing Power BI dashboards.
• Experience supporting Power BI datasets, dataflows, DirectQuery, and Import models.
• Advanced SQL development, ETL/ELT design, performance tuning, and optimization.

3+ Years of Experience

• Experience working with structured and semi-structured data (JSON, CSV, Parquet, etc.).
• Strong experience designing and optimizing scalable data pipelines using Azure Synapse, Snowflake, or Databricks.
• Proficiency in Python or Scala for data processing and automation.

2+ Years of Experience

• Strong experience with SQL, T-SQL, and query optimization.
• Hands-on experience with Azure cloud technologies including:

Desired Qualifications

• Experience integrating cloud data platforms with Salesforce or similar enterprise applications.
• Experience supporting healthcare, Medicaid, NC FAST, or government programs is highly desirable.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
