Job summary

Torrey Holistics is seeking a Power BI and Data Engineer to design, develop, and optimize analytics dashboards and data pipelines in a hybrid Raleigh, NC environment. The role emphasizes hands-on development across Azure Synapse, Power BI, and cloud data platforms, with a focus on scalable data processing and robust SQL/PLSQL capabilities.

The candidate will work on building data models, implementing ETL/ELT processes, and collaborating with data stakeholders to deliver actionable insights

Qualifications

• 5+ years hands-on experience building Power BI dashboards and supporting Power BI datasets, dataflows, and DirectQuery/Import models.
• 5+ years experience designing and optimizing scalable data pipelines using modern platforms (Azure Synapse, Snowflake or Databricks).
• 3+ years working with JSON, CSV, Parquet formats and other structured/semi-structured data.
• 3+ years designing and optimizing Azure-based data pipelines with Synapse, Data Lake, Data Factory and related warehousing concepts.
• 5+ years SQL mastery: advanced queries, ETL/ELT, performance tuning.
• 3+ years Python or Scala for data processing.
• 5+ years PL/SQL development and data processing.
• 2+ years SQL/T-SQL optimization and query tuning.
• 2+ years experience with Azure cloud services (Synapse, Data Lake, Data Factory, Azure SQL).
• 2+ years experience in ADLS, Delta Lake and warehousing concepts (star/snowflake schemas).
