Overview

NextStep Recruiting is partnering with a growing financial services client in Plano seeking a Senior Data Engineer to help design and scale a modern, cloud-native data platform. This role offers a 4/1 hybrid schedule and the opportunity to shape enterprise-level data architecture.

What You’ll Do:

• Design, build, and optimize scalable data pipelines using tools like dbt, Airflow, and Snowflake
• Own end-to-end data workflows: ingestion, transformation, and orchestration in AWS
• Implement data quality frameworks, monitoring, and governance to ensure reliability and compliance
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver business-ready data solutions
• Drive process improvements and evolve architecture for next-gen analytics and reporting

What You Bring:

• 7+ years of data engineering or software development experience
• Strong SQL skills with dimensional modeling (star/snowflake schemas)
• Hands-on experience with Snowflake, dbt, Airflow, Fivetran, AWS (Terraform a plus)
• Expertise in ETL/ELT pipeline design and cloud deployment
• Proficiency in Python for data manipulation and automation
• Excellent communication skills and ability to partner across teams
