Job summary

MCS Group - USA | Your Specialist Recruitment Firm is assisting a long-established global business in the Greater Boston area to hire a Senior Data Engineer. This hands-on role focuses on building and modernizing the data platform that underpins analytics, reporting and strategic decision making.

You will own end-to-end data pipelines, design ETL/ELT processes, implement dbt models, and collaborate with ERP/CRM data sources.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of Data Engineering experience
• Strong SQL
• Strong Python
• Hands-on experience with dbt
• Experience building production-grade ETL / ELT pipelines
• Strong cloud data warehouse experience
• Experience with Azure Data Factory
• Experience with Azure Synapse, Databricks, ADLS or similar technologies
• CI/CD and software engineering practices applied to data
• Experience with data quality, testing and monitoring
• Confidence owning complex projects from architecture through production
• Experience working with ERP or operational data is a strong plus

Job description

I'm working with a long-established global business operating across payments, secure technology, digital identity and manufacturing.

They're modernizing their data environment and are looking for a Senior Data Engineer to help build the infrastructure that supports analytics, reporting and decision-making across the business.

The Role

This is a hands-on data engineering role focused on building and modernizing the underlying data platform.

You'll work across areas such as:

• Designing and building ETL / ELT pipelines
• Moving data from ERP, CRM, finance and manufacturing systems into the data warehouse
• Building and maintaining dbt models
• Modernizing legacy data processes and integrations
• Data quality, observability and monitoring
• Pipeline orchestration and CI/CD
• Supporting analytics teams with reliable, well-structured data

You'll have a lot of ownership and will be helping define how the data platform grows, rather than simply maintaining something already fully established.

The Right Person

Ideally, you'll have:

• 5+ years of Data Engineering experience
• Strong SQL
• Strong Python
• Hands-on experience with dbt

• Strong cloud data warehouse experience
• Experience with Azure Data Factory
