Job summary

The Weitz Company is seeking a Senior Project Manager for a data center project in Sterling, VA. You will lead complex construction efforts, ensure on-time delivery, budget adherence, and high-quality construction, while guiding the Mission Critical team.

You will oversee project teams, manage risks, coordinate with architects, engineers, and clients, develop plans and schedules, and mentor team members. The company offers competitive pay, comprehensive benefits, and a diverse, inclusive culture.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of construction experience in a Project Manager role.
• Commercial construction experience with a general contractor (GC) is required.
• Experience leading, developing, and mentoring a team.
• Industry-related degree required; an equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
• Experience in senior living, student housing, hospitality, condominium, and/or other lived-in product type construction is desired.

Responsibilities

• Lead complex construction projects from start to finish, ensuring on-time delivery within budget and high quality standards.
• Provide leadership and management direction to project teams; foster a collaborative environment and ensure adherence to project goals.
• Identify and assess project risks, develop mitigation strategies, and monitor risk factors.
• Lead client and stakeholder communication, manage expectations, and resolve issues.
• Coordinate with architects, engineers and other key stakeholders; manage procurement and subcontracts.
• Develop detailed project plans, budgets, and schedules; manage resources.
• Prepare and manage project schedules, address long lead items, and update plans as needed.
• Negotiate and execute changes, subcontracts, and purchase orders.
• Prepare monthly status reports, owner billings, and financial risk assessments; manage project finances.
• Implement quality control and assurance programs; identify areas for improvement and value engineering opportunities.
