Job summary

Gilbane Building is seeking a Senior Project Manager - Data Center to oversee on-site direction, execution, and financial outcomes for large or complex construction projects. This role sits primarily on the job site with occasional travel for trainings and meetings.

You will lead a team, coordinate with executives and subcontractors, and drive safety, quality, and schedule adherence across multiple workstreams on these critical data center projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering or Construction Management.
• 8–12 years of experience in construction project management or equivalent.
• Or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Strong technical and communication skills; ability to lead and collaborate across teams.

Responsibilities

• Develops the project safety plan with corporate safety and provides jobsite leadership.
• Develops the project controls and procedures to manage complex project requirements; mitigates high-risk items for contract requirements.
• Manages project financial forecast, notice provisions, and billings to meet contract requirements; addresses deviations in project vitals.
• Creates and manages a project-specific quality plan aligned with Owner contract and documents; assists with execution.
• Creates and manages a closeout plan in alignment with contract documents and assists with execution.
• Leads project team and engineers to establish operational priorities and positive work environment.
• Develops subcontracting strategy; reviews scopes; ensures integrity of buyout process.
• Implements and enforces contracts; creates risk mitigation plans; drafts contracts, agreements, and purchase orders.
• Oversees insurance and bonds enrollment and compliance for trade contractors.
• Leads development of project estimate and coordinates estimating team to meet obligations.
• Leads constructability and coordination reviews.
• Creates CPM schedule for large/complex projects and mitigates schedule risks.
• Develops local market networking strategies and collaborates with BD for client relationships.
