ABB is seeking a Data Center Sr. PLC Technician in the United States with extensive field experience. You will lead pre-startup, startup, commissioning, and maintenance of ABB paralleling switchgear and controls in mission-critical power applications.

The role requires heavy travel across the United States, on-site leadership, and collaboration with customers, engineers, and contractors to ensure safe, on-time project execution. Remote work in the U.S. is supported.

Qualifications

• Ability to read and redline complex electrical/control drawings.
• Experience leading startup and commissioning work with tight timelines.
• Strong documentation and client communication skills.
• Willingness to travel extensively across the United States.
• Authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Responsabilités

• Plan and execute complex field assignments for paralleling switchgear and PLC transfers.
• Lead testing of emergency/standby power systems and transfer sequences.
• Configure and troubleshoot generator controls, relays, and PLCs on site.
• Perform troubleshooting of PLC ladder logic and ACS parameters per specs.
• Establish and troubleshoot communications (Modbus, PLC-PLC, BMS/SCADA).
• Interpret wiring diagrams, coordination studies, and commissioning docs.
• Lead on-site execution, manage punch lists, and ensure on-time project delivery.
• Mentor junior engineers and technicians; provide coaching on safety and quality.
• Escalate and assist with complex remote/on-site troubleshooting.
• Prepare field reports, checklists, and customer status updates.
• Protect assets, control costs, and improve service delivery.
• Build customer relationships with clear findings and mitigation plans.
