ABB is seeking a Data Center Sr. PLC Technician for nationwide travel within the United States. The role requires independent technical leadership during pre-startup through commissioning, with responsibility for on-site execution and mentoring junior staff.

The ideal candidate has strong experience with paralleling switchgear, generator controls, PLCs, HMIs, and related communications. This position is remote in the US with extensive travel and comprehensive travel accommodations.

Competenze

• High school diploma or GED with 7+ years of relevant field experience.
• Bachelor degree or higher in a related field with 5+ years of experience.
• Advanced experience with low- and medium-voltage switchgear and generator controls.
• Experience leading startup and commissioning work and coordinating multi-person site teams.
• Ability to read and redline complex electrical and control drawings and apply engineering methods in the field.
• Willingness to travel extensively within the United States and stay at customer sites for extended assignments.

Mansioni

• Plan, organize, and execute complex field assignments for paralleling switchgear and PLC/Relay transfer schemes.
• Lead testing of emergency/standby power systems and execute hard/soft transfers and load management.
• Configure and troubleshoot generator controls, PLCs, HMIs, and communications.
• Perform on-site troubleshooting and modifications of PLC ladder logic and ACS parameters.
• Establish and troubleshoot Modbus, PLC-to-PLC, and BMS/SCADA communications.
• Interpret diagrams and sequence-of-operations documents for commissioning.
• Lead on-site technical execution, coordinate daily work, manage punch lists and ensure on-time, on-budget completion.
• Mentor junior field engineers and technicians and provide coaching on safe execution.
