Job summary

Google's Hardware Operations team leads the state-of-the-art data center infrastructure powering its search capabilities. As a Hardware Operations Manager, you will manage a team of Data Center Technicians, ensuring high-quality installation and proper maintenance of server hardware and components.

You'll oversee project work, coordinate complex network and compute architecture projects, hire and coach staff, and align data center priorities with Google's objectives while fostering a safe,

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a technical field or equivalent practical experience.
• 10 years of experience managing technical teams in data center hardware installations, configurations, testing, troubleshooting, or maintenance.
• Experience in site-level data center operational leadership and in a people management/supervision role.
• Experience with different operating systems (e.g., Linux) and developing network architecture.
• Must be able to work non-standard hours, including weekends, nights, holidays, and on-shift schedules.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day management of data center operation teams.
• Communicate priorities and hand off operations to shift leads.
• Identify and resolve problems and develop solutions for global computing and network architecture.
• Hire, coach, and develop the team to achieve business goals.
