Job summary

Cushman & Wakefield in Atlanta, GA seeks an Assistant Chief Engineer to oversee daily operation, maintenance, and reliability of mission-critical data center infrastructure. You will lead technicians, coordinate maintenance, and respond to incidents to safeguard uptime.

The role requires 5–8 years in data center or critical facilities, prior supervisory experience, strong knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems, and familiarity with BMS/DCIM platforms.

Qualifications

• Requires 5–8 years in data center operations or equivalent.
• Experience leading technicians or shift teams preferred.
• Familiarity with electrical and mechanical data center infrastructure.
• Experience using BMS, EPMS, or DCIM systems to monitor performance.

Responsibilities

• Assist with operation, inspection, and maintenance of mission-critical systems (UPS, generators, switchgear, PDU, CRAC/CRAH, fire/life safety, and BMS/DCIM).
• Coordinate preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance across electrical, mechanical, and controls systems.
• Provide day-to-day leadership to technicians and vendors, assign work, and ensure safe, accurate completion.
• Respond to alarms and incidents; assist with troubleshooting, escalation, and post-event documentation.
• Develop and improve SOPs, MOPs, EOPs, and maintenance procedures.
• Monitor vendor activities to ensure compliance with rules, safety, and approved scopes of work.
