Job summary

SpaceXSI is seeking a Sr. Operations Technician to ensure health of server and network infrastructure across data centers and global PoPs. You will monitor MTTD/MTTR, follow procedures, and be on-site for emergencies.

Strong Linux skills and hands-on hardware experience are essential. The role requires 5+ years in server/network hardware, inventory management, and experience with structured cabling and power/cooling in data centers.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 5+ years of experience with server, storage, compute and network hardware.
• 5+ years troubleshooting and repairing servers and networking infrastructure.
• 5+ years in inventory management, ordering, receiving and shipping server and network equipment.

Responsibilities

• Report to the job site during initial construction and report back to the engineering team as required.
• Perform troubleshooting and monitoring of the servers and network in data centers and global PoPs.
• Rack and stack data center network equipment.
• Maintain warehouse inventory and asset management using internal applications.
• Label and troubleshoot fiber/optics cables.
• Install, troubleshoot, and repair power supply cabling.
• Install racks, servers and switches; stage racks, cabling, power up and handoff to provisioning team.
• Manage data center operations tickets via Jira.
• Create and maintain documentation of tasks and SOPs.
• Receipt and decommissioning of data center hardware.
• Manage spare parts inventory in the data center.
• Define, design, and implement network layouts and solutions in data centers.
