Job summary

Alter Domus in Chicago is seeking an experienced Network Engineer with deep expertise in data center networking and security. You will design, implement, troubleshoot, and manage enterprise networking across on-premises and hybrid cloud environments, collaborating with infrastructure, security, and cloud teams to ensure high availability and performance.

Key responsibilities include NSX design and implementation, routing and switching, VPNs and firewall policies, and participation in 24x7

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years in network engineering and data center operations.
• Experience with large enterprise or multi-data-center environments.
• Exposure to hybrid cloud networking and SDN technologies.

Responsibilities

• Manage and support enterprise data center network infrastructure.
• Design, implement, and maintain VMware NSX environments.
• Configure and troubleshoot routing and switching technologies.
• Manage firewall policies, VPNs, NAT, and security controls.
• Monitor network performance, availability and security incidents.
• Coordinate with server, virtualization, cloud, and security teams for infra changes.
• Support disaster recovery and 24x7 on-call rotations.
