Job summary

Salute is seeking a Mechanical Subject Matter Expert to lead mechanical infrastructure for mission‑critical data centers in Afton, TX. You will own equipment performance, safety programs, and engineering standards, reporting to the Data Center Manager.

This on‑site role offers a competitive salary range of $155,000 to $170,000 plus a 10% annual bonus, comprehensive benefits starting Day 1, relocation support, and opportunities to shape global mechanical strategies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 7–10 years of mechanical system operations, maintenance, or design in data center/industrial environment.
• Strong knowledge of chillers, evaporative cooling, DX systems, water treatment, and fire suppression.
• Ability to read blueprints/CAD, interpret charts, and review mechanical plans.
• Experience developing/validating MOPs, SOPs, and EOPs for mechanical systems.
• Familiarity with BAS, control theory, and equipment sequencing.
• Knowledge of ASHRAE standards and preventive maintenance programs.
• QA/QC involvement in construction or retrofit projects.
• Strong collaboration skills for cross‑functional, client‑facing work.
• Trade certification or HVAC license preferred.

Responsibilities

• Act as onsite mechanical infrastructure expert for data center facilities.
• Collaborate with local and global teams on mechanical operations and improvements.
• Develop and maintain mechanical procedures, EOPs, SOPs, and MOPs.
• Plan, author, and approve troubleshooting, retrofits, and maintenance activities.
• Oversee equipment configurations, upgrades, and change control processes.
• Provide QA/QC oversight of mechanical construction and maintenance work.
• Lead root-cause analyses of mechanical performance issues.
• Manage vendor relationships for mechanical maintenance and retrofits.
• Support audits, risk assessments, and compliance reviews.
