Amazon Data Services, Inc. is seeking a Sr. Mechanical Design Engineer within Data Center Design Engineering to lead energy-efficient mechanical system design for next-generation facilities.

You will manage cross-functional teams across engineering, construction, and operations, guiding projects from concept through implementation and budget control. The role emphasizes collaboration with hardware teams, continuous improvement via data analysis, and delivering scalable, cost-effective data

Qualifications

• 6+ years of industrial or commercial engineering in mission critical facilities including but not limited to: data centers, power generation or oil and gas facilities experience
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field
• Knowledge of critical data center/mission critical mechanical and electrical equipment
• Experience in data center/mission critical design, construction, operations, or facility maintenance
• Experience researching new designs, technologies, and construction methods of data center/mission critical equipment and facilities

Responsibilities

• Design and implement energy-efficient mechanical systems for next-generation data centers
• Lead cross-functional teams in developing innovative solutions for complex engineering challenges
• Oversee project lifecycle from conception through implementation, including budget management
• Foster collaborative relationships with hardware teams to optimize facility-equipment integration
• Guide continuous improvement initiatives through data analysis and performance monitoring
