Job summary

Salute is a leading provider of cutting-edge Data Center Infrastructure Services. We are seeking a Lead Shift Technician in Elk Grove, IL to oversee day-to-day operation, maintenance, and performance of critical data center infrastructure to ensure reliability, efficiency, and compliance.

The Lead will supervise and develop the technical team, coordinate across shifts and with vendors, and act as an escalation point for complex issues and customer requests.

Qualifications

• 5 years of data center experience and maintenance of critical facilities.
• Leadership, supervisory, or management experience in data center environments.
• Ability to read and assess single line diagrams, technical manuals and engineering plans.
• Experience carrying out MOP/EOP/SOP and coordinating with teams.

Responsibilities

• Ensure proper maintenance of critical data center equipment (UPS, HVAC, generators, security).
• Identify, report and resolve technical issues in hardware and software.
• Monitor data center performance (power, temperature, metrics).
• Keep technical documentation up-to-date (manuals, cabling, maintenance records).
• Monitor ticket queues and respond within SLA times.
• Lead and train the data center team and coordinate with vendors.
• Plan and schedule technical work to meet deadlines.
• Communicate status updates to stakeholders throughout Work Orders.
• Manage resources and personnel to meet objectives.
• Supervise vendors and contractors for compliance and security.
