Jobtailor in Austin, TX seeks a Senior Data Center Infrastructure Engineer to lead scalable, energy-efficient IT infrastructure design and deployment. Emphasis on liquid cooling, power distribution, and CAD-driven architectures with cross-functional teams.

You will evaluate technologies, mentor engineers, develop documentation, manage vendor selection, and ensure ASHRAE/compliance to deliver reliable data center solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Thermal Engineering.
• 8+ years of experience in data center infrastructure engineering.
• Strong understanding of electrical distribution systems (UPS, PDUs, switchgear, busway).
• Strong understanding of mechanical systems (CDU’s, Fluid Networks, CRAC/CRAH, chillers, cooling towers).
• Experience with liquid cooling technologies (direct-to-chip, immersion).
• Knowledge of sustainability practices and energy efficiency metrics (PUE, WUE).
• Experience with containerization technologies.
• Knowledge of data center energy efficiency and sustainability practices.

Responsibilities

• Provide early-stage customer engagement to shape requirements and improve win probability.
• Evaluate technologies and ensure compliance with industry standards.
• Collaborate to develop scalable power and cooling solutions for data centers.
• Work with product and hardware teams to align infrastructure with compute/storage needs.
• Analyze performance data to optimize energy efficiency and reliability.
• Design and install custom IT racks with liquid cooling systems.
• Participate in projects from RFP to mass production, including vendor selection.
• Create CAD models, technical drawings, and BOMs for manufacturing.
• Develop and maintain infrastructure standards and operating procedures.
• Mentor engineers and lead cross-functional collaboration.
• Lead evaluation and selection of hardware, software, and networking technologies.
• Produce architecture documentation and implementation plans.
• Ensure designs meet performance, scalability, availability, and disaster recovery.
• Stay current with emerging technologies.
