Job summary

The Infrastructure Systems Administrator at Harris County designs, builds, and maintains the core localized infrastructure to support the department's strategic goals. This includes on-premises servers, Hyper-V virtualization, SAN storage, and hybrid identity systems.

You will serve as the primary technical authority for compute and identity architecture and drive data center lifecycle tasks from racking to automation.

Qualifications

• Five to seven years of progressive experience in enterprise infrastructure engineering, data center management, or advanced systems administration.
• Proficiency with Active Directory Domain Services (AD DS) including forests, DNS, DHCP, and complex Group Policy architecture.
• Experience administering, tuning, and maintaining enterprise server virtualization (Hyper-V).
• Hands-on SAN storage experience including LUN provisioning, MPIO, and iSCSI networking.
• Scripting with PowerShell to automate tasks, provisioning, and reporting.
• Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with leadership and external authorities.

Responsibilities

• Administer and maintain on-premises Windows servers, Hyper-V clusters, and storage networks.
• Manage enterprise SAN storage, LUNs, and backup/disaster recovery schedules.
• Develop, test, and deploy Group Policy Objects to enforce security baselines.
• Oversee AD/identity lifecycle, including Entra ID integration and account governance.
• Provide Tier 3 escalation for complex issues and assist in automation of datacenter tasks.
