Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a Fire Protection Engineer to lead design for data center and mission-critical facilities, delivering reliable, redundant systems and construction-ready packages. You will collaborate with mechanical, electrical, and architectural teams, mentor junior staff, support proposals, and coordinate BIM workflows using Revit, AutoCAD, Navisworks, and related fire protection software.

This hybrid role requires a PE license and strong NFPA knowledge; enterprise clients expect

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Fire Protection Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related discipline.
Professional Engineer (PE) license in Fire Protection (U.S.) required.
Experience designing fire protection systems for data centers or mission-critical facilities.
Knowledge of NFPA standards (NFPA 13/20/22/24/72/75/76) and FM Global guidelines.

Responsibilities

Lead fire protection design for data center and mission-critical facility projects, ensuring reliability, redundancy, and uptime.
Develop construction-ready design packages including drawings, specifications, and BIM coordination.
Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers and designers.
Collaborate with MEP teams to integrate fire protection within high-density environments.
Support business development with proposals, cost estimates, schedules, and client engagement.
Conduct site assessments and fire protection studies for data centers, including suppression strategy and hazard analysis.
