Job summary

TYG is seeking a Fire Protection Engineer to design and deliver fire protection and life safety systems for mission critical and data center projects. You will work across the project lifecycle with multidisciplinary teams to develop compliant, high‑quality solutions.

The role emphasizes using Revit and AutoCAD to produce detailed drawings, applying codes and standards, and coordinating with clients, engineers, and contractors.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Fire Protection Engineering or closely related field.
• 1–3 years of fire protection design experience.
• E.I.T. certification preferred but not required.
• PE certification or pursuit of licensure is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design fire protection and fire alarm systems for mission critical facilities.
• Produce detailed construction drawings across multiple disciplines.
• Coordinate with internal teams to ensure project delivery.
• Apply building codes and fire protection standards to designs.
• Support submittal reviews, RFIs, and site investigations.
• Collaborate with clients, engineers, and contractors to deliver solutions.
• Assist with other project engineering responsibilities as required.

The Role

We are looking for a Fire Protection Engineer to support the design and delivery of fire protection and life safety systems for mission critical and data center projects.

You will be involved throughout the project lifecycle, working with multidisciplinary teams to develop compliant, effective fire protection solutions while coordinating closely with clients, engineers, contractors, and other project stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop fire protection and fire alarm systems for complex mission critical facilities
• Produce detailed and coordinated construction drawings across multiple disciplines
• Coordinate with internal engineering teams to ensure successful project delivery
• Apply applicable building codes, standards, and fire protection requirements to project designs
• Support submittal reviews, RFIs, site investigations, and construction-phase documentation
• Work as part of a highly technical, collaborative team to deliver accurate, high-quality engineering solutions
• Assist with other project and engineering responsibilities as required

Requirements

• Proficiency with Autodesk Revit and/or AutoCAD
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
• Ability to communicate effectively with engineers, project teams, clients, and management
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Analytical and problem-solving mindset

Education & Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Fire Protection Engineering or a closely related engineering discipline
• 1-3 years of fire protection design experience
• E.I.T. certification preferred but not required

• Experience with mission critical, industrial, commercial, or data center projects is advantageous
