Job summary

Gesa Credit Union seeks a Data Center IT Engineer to ensure secure, stable, and optimized operations of the credit union’s data center infrastructure, storage, compute, and virtualization. You will monitor system health, apply upgrades, and collaborate with vendors and internal teams to enhance services.

The role also involves training junior staff, contributing to data center standards and governance, disaster recovery planning, and participating in after-hours on-call rotations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or related field; advanced degree preferred.
• Minimum of five years of related experience.
• AZ-800/801 or AZ104 preferred.
• A+, Network+, Server+, Linux+ certifications preferred.
• VCTA / VCP‑DCV Data Center Virtualization preferred.
• Experience with Unix/Linux OS.
• Requires participation in an after-hours on-call rotation.
• Respond to alerts and vendor escalations within SLAs.

Responsibilities

• Manage, maintain, troubleshoot, and secure data centers under guidance.
• Troubleshoot complex data center issues across platforms.
• Plan and test upgrades/patches per vendor requirements.
• Manage user accounts and access rights for data centers.
• Perform backups and recovery of data center devices.
• Monitor resource performance and report to leadership on demand.
• Maintain data center asset inventory and documentation.
• Coordinate DR/BCP testing annually and with vendors as needed.
