Job summary

TRUE Community Credit Union is seeking a System Engineer – Database & Virtualization to design, manage, and optimize enterprise database environments and to support virtualization and VDI across hybrid infrastructures.

You will collaborate with security, data, and application teams to ensure secure, reliable systems and implement automation to improve efficiency and resiliency. This role requires cloud experience and strong Windows Server/AD skills within a financial context.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 5+ years of experience in cloud systems administration, infrastructure engineering, or a related technology role.
• Strong hands-on experience with relational and non-relational databases (Oracle SQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, DynamoDB, or similar).
• Experience managing cloud infrastructure in AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud.
• Experience supporting VDI solutions such as Azure Virtual Desktop, VMware Horizon, or similar technologies.
• Strong understanding of hybrid infrastructure environments.
• Experience with Windows Server, Active Directory/Entra ID, backup and recovery strategies, and infrastructure security best practices.
• Experience with PowerShell scripting and automation.
• Experience with enterprise storage, monitoring, and observability tools.
• Relevant Microsoft, Azure, or VMware certifications.

Responsibilities

• Design, manage, and optimize enterprise database environments, including performance tuning, backup and recovery, and data integrity practices.
• Design, implement, and support virtualization and virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI) solutions.
• Support cloud and hybrid infrastructure environments across on-premises and cloud platforms.
• Partner with infrastructure, security, application, and data teams to support business objectives.
• Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and support disaster recovery and resiliency efforts.
• Identify opportunities for automation, efficiency, and continuous improvement.
