Job summary

Sycamore Mission Critical in Ashburn, VA seeks a Senior Electrical or Mechanical Engineer for on-site support. You will work with client and operations teams to maintain data center reliability and lead SOC procedures and maintenance planning.

Responsibilities include SOP/MOP development, project scope definition, power usage reviews, and rapid response to emergencies while ensuring compliance and documentation."

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or equivalent
• Equivalent military or maritime experience in a technical mechanical systems field considered in lieu of education
• 0-3 years’ experience in the job offered
• Experience with functional performance testing on mechanical or electrical systems
• Experience performing commissioning design drawing and specification reviews
• Experience troubleshooting facility issues and implementing corrective actions

Responsibilities

• Engage with client onsite personnel to understand requirements and develop site procedures and standards
• Create SOPs and MOPs for data center operations
• Oversee maintenance events and ensure procedures are followed
• Define project scope, deliverables, schedules, and resource management
• Review power consumption reports to identify optimization opportunities
• Troubleshoot complex MEP equipment issues using diagnostics
• Develop high level failure analysis and equipment reports
• Respond to emergency operational calls and provide technical guidance
• Assist with landlord reviews, thermographic surveys, power quality analysis, and lease reviews
