Job summary

Nesco Data Center and Infrastructure is seeking a Mission Critical Data Center Engineer for the Greater Ashburn VA area. The role focuses on monitoring, operating, troubleshooting, and maintaining essential facility systems to ensure 24x7 data center uptime.

The ideal candidate has hands‑on experience in mission‑critical environments, adheres to safety and change‑control processes, and can manage electrical and cooling infrastructure while communicating effectively with teams.

Qualifications

• 3–7+ years in data center facilities or mission‑critical environments.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Degree preferred in Electrical/Mechanical/Facilities related field.
• Equivalent military or technical training may be considered.
• Experience reading electrical one‑line diagrams and mechanical drawings.
• Experience in 24x7 mission‑critical operations.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and operate data center infrastructure during the overnight shift.
• Perform routine inspections of electrical, mechanical, HVAC, and life‑safety systems.
• Respond to alarms, troubleshoot failures, and document actions taken.
• Maintain logs, equipment documentation, and shift turnover.
• Participate in 24x7 on‑call and emergency response activities.
• Follow SOPs and change management procedures.
