Job summary

Amazon Data Services, Inc. in Atlanta, GA is seeking a data center design and facilities engineer with extensive MEPS expertise to help design, upgrade, and operate mission-critical infrastructure.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, vendors, and regulators, conduct site assessments, perform risk analysis, and influence standards while traveling up to 50% to data centers worldwide.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of data center design, construction, operations, or facility maintenance experience.
• 6+ years of industrial or commercial engineering in mission critical facilities.
• Knowledge of critical data center mechanical and electrical equipment.
• Experience researching new designs and construction methods for data center facilities.

Responsibilities

• Conduct site assessments against AWS standards for collocation data centers and upgrades.
• Perform risk analysis and availability calculations for vendor-owned infrastructure.
• Influence AWS design requirements to meet business needs for colocation products.
• Investigate root-cause failure analysis for infrastructure and equipment.
• Work with vendors and local authorities to ensure regulatory compliance.
• Test and validate installations and performance of critical systems.
• Travel to data center sites internationally and domestically up to 50%.
