Job summary

Amazon Data Services, Inc. is seeking a Principal Development Manager to lead complex colocation and leased data center projects within AWS AMER. The role oversees delivery standards, playbooks, and best practices across the team, balancing speed, quality, and cost while mentoring others.

You will partner with cross-functional teams to codify repeatable processes, drive standardized workflows, and engage with legal, finance, construction, and operations to align with AWS growth goals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
• 15+ years of Real Estate Development, Construction, Engineering, or Data Center Management experience.
• Experience directly related to the design or construction of large data center facilities, either colocation or client owned/operated.

Responsibilities

• Own and manage colocation and leased data center development projects, from post-lease execution through facility turnover and commissioning.
• Manage a portfolio of concurrent, high-complexity development projects across a broad geographic area, ensuring consistent execution and on-time delivery at scale.
• Drive developer/vendor accountability to AWS standards, specifications, and delivery timelines within the assigned portfolio.
• Leverage deep knowledge of data center power and cooling infrastructure to evaluate facility designs, identify risks, and ensure deliverables meet AWS’s technical requirements.
