Job summary

Turner & Townsend in Tysons, VA, seeks a Senior Cost Manager / Quantity Surveyor to lead cost management across a major data center portfolio in Northern Virginia. The role is client-facing and based out of our Tysons office, supporting projects regionally with strong emphasis on cost control and VE.

The candidate should have a bachelor’s degree in a related field, 6–7 years of cost management experience in large-scale construction, and proficiency in cost management systems.

Qualifications

• Strong cost management knowledge across large-scale construction programs.
• Excellent communication and client-facing skills.
• Ability to lead meetings, influence stakeholders, and drive commercial outcomes.
• Proficiency in cost management systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Certifications (MRICS, PMP, CCP) are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Estimate and negotiate change orders throughout the construction lifecycle.
• Provide cost planning, including producing and presenting final cost plans.
• Review and collaborate with design teams and GC on estimates.
• Reconcile changes and validate contractor data for accuracy.
• Coordinate with contractors and stakeholders to prepare cost updates.
• Prepare written reports and executive summaries on submissions.
• Consolidate cost data from suppliers and teams.
• Inform engineering decisions based on cost impact.
• Manage cost checks, valuations, and reporting across projects.
• Lead VE sessions and design optioneering.
