Job summary

Amazon’s Data Center Certification team is seeking a Senior Certification Designer to blueprint and build scalable certification programs for AWS Data Center Operations. You’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams, SMEs, and senior leaders to ensure valid, reliable credentials spanning exams, item banks, and pathways for diverse roles globally.

The role emphasizes psychometric rigor, defensible blueprints, and data-driven iteration to drive measurable workforce capability outcomes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Instructional Design, Educational Technology, Technical Training, Design, or a related field
• Experience applying learning science, educational psychology, and instructional design principles to learning solutions
• Experience developing or delivering training programs across multiple sites or regions
• Experience working with data analytics to identify problems or in auditing, coding, and documentation requirements
• Demonstrated mastery of job-task analysis methodologies and facilitating SME workshops for defensible blueprints

Responsibilities

• Design end-to-end certification programs from exam blueprinting to credential maintenance.
• Facilitate job-task analysis workshops and apply competency-mapping for defensible blueprints.
• Lead item writing workshops with SMEs to create high-quality exam items aligned to blueprint domains.
• Apply psychometric techniques (CTT, IRT, item stats, standard-setting) to ensure validity and reliability.
• Use performance analytics and candidate feedback to iterate on exam design and item banks.
• Lead cross-functional certification projects, mentoring junior designers and raising credentialing standards.
• Design scalable, modular item banks and certification architectures for multiple levels, roles, geographies.
• Manage the full certification lifecycle and communicate strategy with senior leadership.
