Job summary

Liberty Healthcare Management in Wilmington, NC is seeking an experienced Physical Cabling Technician to install data and phone cabling, test, label, and certify cables, and oversee contractor work.

You will terminate and test cables, perform testing of fiber and copper, maintain datacenter infrastructure, and ensure compliance with BICSI and NEC standards. This role requires hands-on cable experience and valid driver's license.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Two years hands-on cable infrastructure experience.
• BICSI Installer 2 Copper or higher or Optical Fiber or higher.
• NC Low/High Voltage license preferred; Journeyman considered.
• Knowledge of TIA/EIA/BICSI/NEC standards.

Responsibilities

• Install data and phone cabling with testing and labeling.
• Inspect contractor work at new facilities.
• Terminate and test cables including patch panels.
• Test and troubleshoot faulty cables.
• Cross-connect circuits using patch panels.
• Maintain datacenter infrastructure per BICSI standards.
• Coordinate network cabling design and upgrades.
• Diagnose network infrastructure issues; wire maps/POE testing as needed.
• Configure programs to meet end-user needs.
• Keep company standards up to date with BICSI codes.
• Serve as consultant to staff on cable solutions.
• Work in MDF/IDF environments with various wiring configurations.
• Perform work during emergency/disaster situations.
