Job summary

Dateonic is seeking a proactive Business Analyst (Data) to bridge the gap between business stakeholders and technical engineering squads. You will define core data requirements, testable business logic, and detailed mapping rules that data engineers will build from, keeping documentation aligned as requirements iterate.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Business Analyst on data-centric initiatives, including data platforms, data warehouses, or data migration projects.
• Defining low-level data mapping logic and technical business rules.
• Strong written requirement skills with Jira user stories and acceptance criteria.
• Practical ability to read, query, and reason about complex data models using SQL.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management between finance and tech teams.
• Hands-on experience in iterative Agile delivery.
• Availability for a full-time, 6-month freelance contract with immediate or near-term start.

Responsibilities

• Define and document detailed data requirements for a Databricks-based platform solution, partnering with Finance product teams and technical architects.
• Specify business logic in precise, testable terms, including calculations and revenue allocations.
• Produce source-to-target mapping specifications covering field definitions and data transformations.
• Write clear user stories, functional requirements, and acceptance criteria in Jira.
• Maintain end-to-end traceability from business objectives to technical mappings and documents.
• Identify data anomalies and edge cases early, presenting potential solutions.
• Collaborate with product, data engineers, architects, and QA throughout delivery.
• Facilitate solution walkthroughs and sign-offs with Finance stakeholders.
