Job summary

Saab AB in the Syracuse area is seeking a Senior Data Informatics Analyst to generate ad hoc reports and regular datasets, integrate data from multiple sources, and develop end-user information portals and dashboards.

You will design Power BI reports, build semantic data models with Power Query and DAX, write Python scripts for automation, query relational databases and cloud warehouses, and partner with Sales, Operations, and Finance to define KPIs and ensure data accuracy.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Science, or a related quantitative field and 8 plus years of relevant experience or a master’s degree and 6 plus years.
• Power BI Experience: three plus years developing dashboards, data models, and report publishing.
• Python Proficiency: two plus years for data analysis, automation, and scripting (pandas, numpy, etc.).
• SQL & Database Skills: strong proficiency in writing SQL queries with PostgreSQL, SQL Server, Snowflake.
• DAX & Power Query: deep understanding of DAX and data transformation workflows.
• Analytical Mindset: distill large data volumes into actionable insights.

Responsibilities

• Dashboard Design & Development: Build, publish, and maintain interactive Power BI reports, scorecards, and dashboards.
• Data Modeling & ETL: Design semantic data models, data flows, and relational schemas using Power Query and DAX.
• Python Integration & Automation: Write Python scripts for data cleaning, preprocessing, API integrations, and automation.
• SQL & Data Querying: Write and optimize complex SQL queries to extract/transform data from databases and data warehouses.
• Stakeholder Collaboration: Partner with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and define KPIs.
• Performance & Governance: Troubleshoot refresh issues, optimize DAX, and ensure data accuracy and security.
