Job summary

The Aerospace Corporation is seeking a Senior Data Architect to design, implement, and govern enterprise-scale data solutions spanning identity management, ERP, digital libraries, and AI-powered knowledge systems. You will bridge data engineering, AI/ML, and enterprise architecture to shape how the organization manages data.

You’ll lead data modeling, governance, and scalable pipelines, ensuring security and compliance while collaborating with IT, cybersecurity, and mission teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Information Systems, or a related field
• 8–10+ years of experience in data architecture or data engineering, including 5+ years designing enterprise-scale data solutions
• Experienced with cloud architectures (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and data governance
• Hands-on experience with SQL/NoSQL databases and pipeline orchestration tools such as Airflow or Prefect
• Familiar with data formats and standards like JSON, XML, Parquet, and RDF/OWL
• Experience addressing AI/ML data requirements, including vector databases and semantic search
• Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government security clearance; U.S. citizenship required
• Senior level experience includes 10+ years and familiarity with streaming data architectures

Responsibilities

• Design enterprise data architecture frameworks integrating identity management, ERP, digital libraries, and AI/ML apps
• Develop data models, schemas, and ontologies for semantic interoperability and knowledge graphs
• Architect data pipelines and semantic layers supporting Graph RAG and AI-driven knowledge management
• Lead integration architecture for enterprise systems including ETL/ELT pipelines, real-time sync, and MDM
• Define governance policies for controlled information and RBAC architectures
• Architect scalable solutions for 90,000+ documents across cloud, on-prem, and hybrid environments
• Collaborate with IT, cybersecurity, library services, and mission teams; mentor and communicate architecture decisions
