Rooms To Go is seeking a Data Architect to lead senior technical initiatives for scalable, high-performance data platforms that support analytics, AI/ML, and BI. The role focuses on Databricks, Delta Lake, and Azure data services, shaping strategy, and mentoring engineers.

The candidate will collaborate with data scientists, BI developers, and business stakeholders to deliver aligned, high-impact solutions, building robust architecture, roadmaps, and governance across the data ecosystem.

Qualifications

• 8–12 years of progressive data engineering experience with leadership in large-scale cloud-native data solutions.
• Expert-level proficiency with Databricks including Delta Live Tables, Unity Catalog, and Spark tuning.

Responsibilities

• Lead architectural design and development of enterprise-grade data platforms using Databricks, Delta Lake, and Azure Data Services.
• Define and enforce technical standards and best practices across data engineering for scalability and maintainability.
• Architect and optimize modern data warehouses and lakehouses with Snowflake and distributed data systems.
• Guide real-time and batch data pipelines for advanced analytics, ML, and reporting.
• Design secure, compliant data architectures supporting governance and access control.
• Provide leadership in infrastructure as code, automated pipelines, and observability.
• Mentor senior engineers and promote architectural rigor across teams.
• Collaborate with data scientists, BI developers, and stakeholders to deliver aligned solutions.
• Create architectural documentation and roadmaps; lead PoCs and architecture reviews.
• Troubleshoot complex performance issues and ensure cost-efficient system health.
• Promote modern data architecture practices through internal/external knowledge sharing.
• Perform other duties as required.
