Job summary

SMX seeks an expert Senior Data Architect to design and optimize the enterprise data warehouse supporting the FTA mission. You will replace legacy systems, implement cloud data solutions, and provide a robust architectural backbone for advanced analytics and data-driven decisions.

You will lead data architecture, model design, ETL/ELT pipelines, and governance while guiding teams through cloud modernization on AWS and Databricks.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related field.
• 10+ years of experience in BI, DW, data modeling & DB design.
• Proven cloud data solutions experience on AWS.
• Expertise in dimensional modeling techniques for reporting & analytics.
• Hands-on with SQL Server & MariaDB.
• Experience building ETL/ELT with SSIS, Python, or Databricks.
• Ability to translate business needs into technical requirements for stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Lead data architecture across scalable models, data marts, and DB solutions.
• Design logical and physical database models to maximize analytics capabilities.
• Oversee ETL/ELT pipelines integrating data from critical systems and external sources.
• Provide technical governance and guide development teams; ensure data integrity and quality.
• Collaborate on Cloud modernization and migration to Databricks and Data Lakes on AWS.
