SMX is seeking an expert Senior Data Architect to design and optimize an enterprise data warehouse supporting a broad national mission. You will drive data models, ETL/ELT pipelines, and cloud modernization of the AWS stack with Databricks and data lake integrations.

In this high-impact role, you will lead data architecture, governance, and collaboration with stakeholders to translate complex business needs into scalable technical solutions for a federal environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field.
• 10+ years of professional experience in BI, Data Warehousing, Data Modeling, and DB Design.
• Proven experience architecting and optimizing data solutions in AWS.

Responsibilities

• Lead Data Architecture: design, develop, and maintain scalable data models, data marts, and database solutions.
• Data Modeling & Design: create logical/physical models using tools like Microsoft Visio; define hierarchies and metrics.
• ETL & Data Integration: oversee ETL/ELT pipelines from multiple sources, ensuring quality and performance.
• Technical Leadership & Governance: guide development teams; support data governance for data integrity.
• Cloud Modernization: assess and optimize AWS infrastructure; migrate to modern platforms like Databricks and Data Lakes.
