Job summary

SMX seeks a Senior Data Architect to design and optimize an enterprise data warehouse that supports the FTA mission. You will lead data architecture efforts, model design, ETL/ELT development, and governance while guiding modernization to cloud platforms like AWS, Databricks, and Data Lakes.

You will collaborate with stakeholders, ensure data quality, and drive scalable analytics. The role requires deep experience in BI, data warehousing, and cloud data solutions within a government-focused

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field.
• 10+ years of experience in BI, Data Warehousing, Data Modeling, and Database Design.
• Proven cloud data solutions experience, specifically AWS.
• Expertise in dimensional modeling techniques for reporting/analytics.
• Hands-on with SQL Server and MariaDB.
• Experience building ETL/ELT with SSIS, Python, or Databricks.

Responsibilities

• Own the overall data architecture, designing scalable data models and data marts.
• Create and maintain logical and physical database models.
• Oversee ETL/ELT pipelines and data integration from multiple sources.
• Provide technical leadership and governance for data architecture.
• Assist with AWS cloud modernization and migration to Databricks/Data Lakes.
