Job summary

Meta is seeking a senior Data Engineer to lead the Ranking AI data platform within the Ads stack. You will collaborate with product managers, data scientists, and software engineers to design scalable data foundations across Instagram and Meta products, enabling production‑grade analytics and impactful insights.

You will define data architectures, own data models, and drive governance and security across large, diverse datasets, while mentoring engineers and delivering measurable outcomes

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS or equivalent required.
• 10+ years in data warehousing.
• 10+ years in ETL design, implementation and maintenance.
• 10+ years in object‑oriented programming languages.
• 10+ years in schema design and dimensional data modeling.
• 10+ years in authoring SQL statements.
• Experience analyzing data to identify deliverables, gaps and inconsistencies.
• Experience managing and communicating data warehouse plans to cross‑functional stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Proactively drive the vision for data foundation and analytics for cross‑platform components.
• Own data architecture for large projects and evaluate design/operational tradeoffs.
• Contribute to frameworks improving logging data and triaging data issues.
• Build cross‑functional relationships with Data Scientists, PMs and Software Engineers.
• Define and manage SLA for data sets in ownership.
• Define security model based on privacy requirements and governance.
• Design and launch data models and visualizations for diverse use cases.
• Solve complex data integration problems using ETL patterns and diverse sources.
• Improve production processes and optimize data artifacts.
• Improve pipelines and dashboards for easier data development.
• Influence product teams to identify data opportunities for impact.
• Mentor team members with actionable feedback.
