Job summary

Collins Aerospace is seeking a seasoned Principal Engineer in Aguadilla, PR, to lead mechanical and analytics initiatives using data analytics and ML techniques. The role emphasizes predictive maintenance, data curation, and driving digital transformation within aerospace systems.

You will mentor engineers, liaise with discipline owners, and guide cross-functional teams in data-driven decisions to enhance field performance and reliability.

Qualifications

• Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) with 8 years of relevant experience, or an Advanced Degree with 5 years of experience.
• Proven ability to communicate effectively in English (verbal and written).
• U.S. citizenship is required to access information under this program/contract.

Responsibilities

• Lead analysis of engineering and aircraft performance datasets to improve product reliability.
• Develop, train, and validate ML models for predictive maintenance, service time estimation, and performance forecasting.
• Define validation approaches, criteria, and metrics for analytics and ML models across programs.
• Mentor junior engineers in data analytics and ML methodologies.
• Serve as technical liaison with design teams, SME owners, and external stakeholders.
