Job summary

XCentium is seeking a Principal Consultant / Senior Data Analyst to bridge business strategy with data engineering and delivery in a full-time hybrid role based in Boston. You will lead discovery sessions, analyze complex data landscapes, review system integrations, and outline enterprise-level digital transformations.

The role requires translating requirements for non-technical executives and collaborating with engineering, product, and leadership.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in MIS, Business Administration, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
7+ years of professional consulting experience, ideally split between digital consulting firms and internal corporate roles.
4+ years of hands-on data analysis, BI, or related analytics against modern data warehouses/lakehouse platforms.
Able to write complete requirements that drive acceptance criteria and QA tests.
Solid understanding of enterprise data models and data flows.

Responsibilities

Own delivery cadence for client engagements, including standups, deep-dives, steering calls, RAID logs, and phase-gate deliverables.
Lead enterprise discovery through sessions and stakeholder interviews across client departments.
Document end-to-end data flows, system integrations, data quality, and governance requirements in complex environments.
Take ownership of analytics for a business domain and coordinate with the Data Architect on solution design.
Write SQL to extract and shape data for analysis and build reusable data models.
