Job summary

Sharp Decisions is seeking a Business Data Analyst to work in a hybrid setup across Charlotte, NC and Jersey City, NJ. The role requires 7+ years of experience and strong SQL and Python skills to drive data analysis in a banking/financial domain.

You will gather data from various sources, analyze trends, scrub data, and document requirements while collaborating with cross-functional teams to support data security and encryption initiatives.

Qualifications

• Strong Data Analysis experience.
• Strong proficiency with Microsoft Excel or BI tools.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to identify data issues and inconsistencies.
• Ability to interpret and analyze data in a business context.
• Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
• Exposure to SQL and relational databases is a plus.
• Proficiency in Python is a plus.
• Experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or Google Data Studio is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Gather and organize data from internal systems, spreadsheets, and reports.
• Analyze trends, patterns, and business performance using Excel or BI tools.
• Analyze and understand data sources from upstream systems.
• Perform data scrubbing and data quality analysis.
• Create and document technical requirements related to data sources and data processing.
• Work with stakeholders to understand business and data requirements.
• Collaborate with data development teams supporting CyberDW data loads.
• Support data initiatives related to Data Security, Data Loss Prevention (DLP), and Encryption programs.
• Interpret data in a business context and communicate findings effectively.
• Work cross-functionally with business and technical teams.
